"The Locals"

We are André Sundero and Karola Wenzel. For over 20 years, we have worked together as hosts and guides for visitors to Jotunheimen and Besseggen. We offer nature and culture guiding on various themes and with storytelling in Norwegian, English and German. 
We look forward to every trip and love making new discoveries together with you. André is a passionate fisherman in the summer and a cross-country skiing enthusiast. Karola enjoys going on cycling trips with luggage and loves dipping in river pools during the summer. Our white shepherd dog, Frost, often joins us on our trips.
 No experience is the same, no story identical, and our knowledge of nature and culture grows daily. Sharing this with you on our tours is a meaningful contribution to a sustainable society.

The mountains

The valleys around Jotunheimen mountain range hold deep cultural roots to present-day Norway. Gudbrandsdalen, Heidal, Ottadalen and all the side- and alp valleys are shaped by a culture formed in harmony with the rugged mountain nature. Small rural communities have developed unique survival techniques across generations in tune with the nature that fascinates both locals and visitors. Summer farming was added to the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage in 2024.
Today's consumer society has much to learn from a culture that lived in balance with nature in a circular economy.

Join us

on a journey through nature and local history around Jotunheimen. We will take you where there are no marked trails or where paths and stories have become overgrown. All our tours are guaranteed with a minimum of 1 participant. We ensure a leave-no-trace approach with respect for nature and cultural heritage.
